From Sugar Cane to Oak Barrels

Rum is obtained by mixing the vinasse from distillation of sugarcane juice and molasses with water, and turning it into wort. The wort obtained is fermented for 48 hours 5 days and then distilled. Rum, which is ready for consumption after it is aged in oak barrels and filtered, is mostly produced in territories where sugar cane is grown. The origin of rum, which is a spirit with high alcoholic strength, is known to be Central America, Latin America and the Caribbean Islands.
